A NARROW ESCAPE

It was a chilly dark night.so tensed, so thick that you would slice it with a knife. The wind blew threateningly and the sky sent out lightening sparks to my dismay. I closed my eyes in prayers but a curiosity would have it. I gave a few spells of glimpse which collided with the reflection of lightening upon concrete that covered the whole building. I trembled fearfully and felt as though a nuclear bomb had just been dropped at the center of my existence. But despite the fact that it thundered dreadfully, it did not rain, so my heart mounted courage and I felt at a secure place.

Shortly had I heard a sweet wave that passed by my ears, than I became alert? It was as if I had dozed off and was in a deep kind of trance in midair, far above the earth. Then it came softly at first and then progressively more loudly and soothingly. I could not see anything far in to the infinite distance when I tried to give a glance. It reached my ears in quick succession and stayed for something like a minute or two, then faded away slowly. I could only describe it as the most heavenly music i had ever heard in my life.

After this entire occurrence, I quickly shot out of the room like bolt lighting. BUT when I was out of the room, the sound was from bad to worse, to mean, more loudly than before so I decided to go for this disco but it was unfortunate that i was the only one heading for it that time. Then shortly I reached a certain place where a man who had moved some few paces in the bush to help himself, emerged from the bush right in front of me and we collided but the un expected sound I made took both of us on our heels that it was of no good stopping not until i could not help running any.

Hardly did I know that I was fighting back cars when I felt a burning pain at my right toe. it got hurt when I was running for my dear life so I got an idea of treeing it with a polythene bag .I endured the pain all along until I reached the disco hall. In the disco, I stood watching other but the music could not let me stand watching.so in few minutes, i decided off with my styles and everyone this time turned to be a spectator and so they considered me to be a strong character in the disco that day. The dance went on so the odiously that I ended up dancing with a strange, tall and giant man. But height was not my problem that time. I danced vigorously until late in the mid hours of the night.

However, the time was after me, I continued generously. But accidentally I slipped and knocked a certain man who held a bottle of beer in his hand and he fell with a thud kissing the ground and so did the bottle of beer. With much anger, he stood up and looked at me with fierce eye and gave me a wide way swaying down soundly with tears rolling down my rosy cheeks. I was overcome with profound shock because the slap approached me suddenly with its unexpectedness. I got up only to realize I was out of the dance hall and surrounded by five energetic men waiting for my last word but my teeth was clutched strongly inside my mouth instead.

Besides my silence, thoughts raced in my mind like eating up dry grass where I was dancing inwardly whether to escape or to apologize. Fortunately, a man came out of the dance hall and called one of these men. I didn’t pick exactly what they were discussing but at last I got a point that they should leave me free. But they came back instead fiercer  than before. I shed tears that my eyes were as red as berries but none of them felt pity. It was not so long that I decided to try escaping so I used both of my hands to push two of the men apart leaving me way to pass and I made my way through the bushes but my heart with mighty beats.

Suddenly, I heard a voice behind me that, “Anyone who would get hold on her should do something more stupid on her because she taught she is right and wise to run so quick like a hare,” but things were not in ease condition. I had to increase much of my speed to give a far distance from their company. And actually, I ran as if the devil himself were after me but with good luck the struggle came to an end when they got tired and stopped. On my realization they were nowhere to be seen not even the sound of their whispers. By then the joy I had knew no bound and I stopped to get a brief rest. Surely anyone could easily interpret the vibrant smile on my face because it expressed incredulous joy that moment.

In addition, I walked home safely but later on the hunger that I felt was as if I had not eaten for four days. I could not withstand it so I imagined any food brought in front of me that time, shall be crushed within some minutes either being what quantity but my imagination was like wishes which are never true wishes. An idea came to me; I mixed some little crystal of sugar in water and took it where at least it gave me life to sleep waiting to be awaken by the rags of the morning sun.

To sum up, the composition is all about my “Narrow Escape,” where I went for a disco, I was met with a lot of sad stares like being slapped and tortured but I managed to escape narrowly and have learnt a lesson that day.

Our visitation day

The 8th of November 2014 was the Visitation Day of St. Mary Assumpta Girls Secondary School. Many parents came to see the general performance of their daughters while in the school and at least two hundred forty six parents responded positively to this call. Cases about young parents were not registered.

The students were disciplined when they were with their parents and all of them gave a positive respond after they were called upon by their parents respectively.

The liturgy prefects also said that they were very happy for the students for not forgetting about the evening rosary of Saturday. They also added that it was clear evidence that the students of this School are growing both physically and spiritually and also advised them to keep up with the spirit.

However, the rate of vernacular speaking rose to its highest peak on that day though the students were constantly reminded about the effects. Though the students were told not to leave the furniture which they brought outside behind, many of them did not follow the order, said the compound and security prefect.

We also found out that at least three basins full of posho plus its sauce that is beans were not eaten during supper after serious investigation. The students claimed that they had their food brought from home but those ones who were not visited at least served supper from the dining hall but they still shared the little food of their sisters brought from home.

At least 2% of the students went for evening preps in the class, said the education and discipline prefect.

Good Evening.

OUR GREAT MOTHER, DEAR HEADTEACHER

You are our Hero mummy

You are our future foundation

When we think of you, we are filled with joy & find appreciation

You make us feel protected

We are sheltered by your care.

You are always our true friend

When we need you, you’re always there.

You have a place of honor deep within our heart

You’ve been our super Hero mummy

Right from the very start.

Your smile brings warmth to our spirit

It shows us care & reason to live

So always keep smiling

One tree can start a forest

One smile can start friendship

One touch can show love & care

And one friend like you can make life worth living.

It takes a minute to get a crust

An hour to like someone

A day to love someone

And a whole life to forget special people.
